Our Mission

The English Language Center of Cache Valley, Inc. teaches English, basic life skills, U.S. Citizenship preparation, and employment education to adult speakers of other languages. These services act as a catalyst for real education-based change leading to opportunities for individual and community prosperity, self-sufficiency, and cultural integration.

Learn English, Connect to Higher Education, Secure a Job, Provide for Self and Family

We believe that as students improve their English, they are better able to connect to further training and higher education, secure and keep a job, and can provide for themselves and family, as well as participate more fully in the community.

Our History

The English Language Center of Cache Valley, Inc (ELC) opened in September, 1998. Our vision when we opened our doors was to provide a friendly and welcoming environment where students could learn English and gain the skills necessary to become self-sufficient community members. Over the years ELC has expanded its traditional English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL classes) to include U.S. Citizenship preparation, basic computer literacy, and workplace readiness. We offer 7 different levels of English classes from Beginning through Advanced English levels. ELC works closely with local school districts, community organizations, and the Utah State Office of Adult Education. ELC offers approximately 90 classes per year over 4 quarters. Through the years, we have served students from over 92 different countries. The ELC has maintained a warm and welcoming environment where students learn English, have life-changing experiences, and are happy to be part of the ELC family.
